TTRPGs for Accessible Gaming
I'm thrilled to announce we are launching the TTRPGs for Accessible Gaming game jam to support DOTS RPG Project!
TTRPGs for Accessible Gaming is now accepting submissions.
In the TTRPG industry, physical dice are plentiful for sighted individuals but scarce and often unaffordable for those who are blind or visually impaired. While digital dice rollers may be an option, they lack the tactile experience and immersion of physically rolling dice. Sighted players themselves acknowledge the unique satisfaction of rolling traditional dice. Enter DOTS RPG Project, an organization focused on improving accessibility in tabletop roleplaying games.
Money raised from our charity bundle initiative will help fund the production of their Signature Braille RPG Dice, manufactured in partnership with Die Hard Dice. This will make the first ever Braille RPG Dice available in a retail setting worldwide, helping make tabletop gaming more accessible for disabled gamers.
Get involved
We are accepting TTRPG submissions from August 19 - September 1 at the TTRPGs for Accessible Gaming Game Jam. All TTRPGs and supplements submitted will then be turned into a charity bundle on itch.io and will be sold for a minimum donation of $10 from September 16 - October 20. The fundraising goal of $20,000 would cover the initial cost of production for the DOTS RPG Project’s Signature Braille RPG Dice which would then become self-sustaining.
If you don’t have a game to submit, you can help us spread the word. Share this tweet, newsletter, thread, and Blue-Sky post. We’d also be delighted to talk to any news outlets!
You can also show your support by creating a Tiltify charity stream or making a donation directly on their website.
We hope to collect 150 TTRPGs in the game jam to turn into the charity bundle supporting DOTS RPG Project. Stay tuned for additional updates.
With love and a forehead kiss,
Jes
